The Znojmo Music Festival will feature the young artist as Raffaelle alongside Adam Plachetka and other great artists on July 15, 16 and 17.

After recent successes as a stand-in for the role of Gilda in the opera houses of Liège, Belgium, and Prague, Czech Republic, Lucie Kaňková will perform at the Baroque Opera Festival in Znojmo. “I have never met such a positive and harmonious team of great performers,” says Lucie. “Haydn’s music is very demanding and will test both technical and musical skills to the core, so neither we on stage nor the audience will be bored. Il Ritorno di Tobias – The Return of Tobias is originally an oratorio that will be performed on stage for the first time this weekend. It is full of melodies and rhythms that will captivate you on the first listen, and with a beautiful set, there is definitely something to look forward to.”

Lucie has extensive experience with baroque music. In addition to many concert appearances, she has performed to very positive reviews, primarily in the title role of Monteverdi’s opera The Coronation of Poppea at the DJKT in Pilsen, as Teofane in G. F. Handel’s opera Ottone in the Swiss theaters in Biel and Solothurn, and as a soloist at the Olomouc Baroque Festival, Janáček May and the Hortus Magicus Festival in Kroměříž in the roles of Time and Fortune in the opera Il tribunale di Giove by Karl Ditters von Dittersdorf.

Other roles will include British tenor Theodore Browne as Tobias, Adam Plachetka as Tobit, Israeli soprano Shira Patchornik as Sara and Czech soprano Dagmar Šašková as Anna. The direction is by Tomáš Ondřej Pilař and the Czech Ensemble Baroque Orchestra & Choir is conducted by Roman Válek.
