Every meeting with Václav Hudeček is special.

Soprano Lucie Kaňková will perform as a soloist at the opening concert of the 35th annual Svátky hudby (Celebration of Music) festival.

She is returning to the festival after two years, and she views her collaboration with Václav Hudeček as far more than just another entry in her concert schedule. They are united by a long-standing family friendship and shared experiences; thanks to Hudeček’s personality, their encounters are marked by an exceptionally warm atmosphere.

“In a word—humanity,” says Lucie Kaňková when asked what working with Václav Hudeček means to her. Their families have known each other for generations, giving her meetings with the violinist a more personal dimension than typical professional collaborations.

After returning from trips abroad, she says she values ​​the opportunity to reunite with Hudeček and the local audience all the more. She particularly appreciates the atmosphere Hudeček creates around him. “He is able to generate a uniquely warm atmosphere that connects the artist and the audience,” she says. In her view, this connection lies at the heart of the magic of both the *Svátky hudby* festival and their joint performances. “Sharing the stage with him is always a beautiful and inspiring experience,” Kaňková concludes.
